I was asked by the student newspaper editor to provide an illustration to accompany a scathing article against poor journalism. In this instance, instead of being given a brief description of what the article was about, I was given the completed article to read. I decided to go with a term that's often used in online journalism, "clickbait", and develop that term as an illustration. Process: the line art was done traditionally with ink. The line art was then scanned in and inked on Photoshop. I then imported in a watercolour texture to give the illustration a more natural feel.

This was done for an article on a new policy to give free vitamins for under-5s. It was drawn in ink first, then the vitamins were digitally coloured.

The line art was done in ink, was scanned in, then digitally coloured. The watermark at the bottom is for an old Tumblr address (now bellacockrell.tumblr.com!) and I couldn't find the orginial Photoshop file.
